Starke is the county seat of Bradford County, on U.S. 301 at the State Road 100 junction, about 25 miles northeast of Gainesville via State Road 24. Micanopy is the oldest continuously inhabited inland community in Florida, with a downtown historic district on the National Register of Historic Places and the 1991 film Doc Hollywood to its name.
